Flightplan YMML - ZSPD
"Hi there, I'm new here getting along very very well.. Usually I use rfinder.asalink.net/free/ to find my routes. But....... For YMML - ZSPD I'm getting a very unrealistic route letting me fly several 100s of miles around! Anybody out there with a realistic plan?? Thanks in advance, Peter Aertssen EHAM (That's the place I actually live...)"
"Hi Peter, if its anything like FS9 on some routes it places you way out of the way then heads you towards your destination. On those I usually will go in to FS9 and edit the flight plan by hand. I can't wait to get a flight plan program, but with all the changes going on I am halting all buying until I see whats working and whats not with the changes. You might try Simroutes and see what that gives you as well. Not much help, but sometimes you just have to experiment with other sites and plans etc.. Take care!"
"Hi Peter, First of all, welcome to Globe Cargo! I tried to plug in that route into FSBuild and it gave me something extremely garbled back. RouteFinder that you already are using gave me back something more reasonable although still not very direct. So I took what RouteFinder gave me, put it into FSBuild and then tweaked it manually until I found some airways that would get you there. Still not a direct line but much better than the default. Give this a try and let me know how it worked out: YMML KEPPA UH336 NYA J19 BHI T25 TNK J30 TN J251 DN A461 CAB B462 LAO B348 HCN B591 AKARA A593 PUD ZSPD"
"Hi Peter, You are not alone. Just this past Sunday I plugged in the EHAM to KATL request and it basically made a 3800 mile trip into a 6500 mile trip. I was routed through Africa and the Caribbean. Thanks to FSNav I was able to create a more sensible (and virtuallly direct flight) on my own. If you don't have FSNav...you NEEED to get it. (Just my humble opinion!) Rick FO"
