January Fly-In

Post by rossspargo »

"Hey Guys, Another great fly-in this month! Good to see some new faces on this one too! I would like to thank Mark for providing ATC in place of Tomas who couldnt make it :( I took some shots of Luc, Dave and Mark Landing at OPRN aswell as a couple of Luc and I at the Dep and Arr Airports. I am hoping someone can provide a solution to the problem that I have with screenshot taking, all aircraft on the FS Multi-Session show up as being the same as mine, even the GTI Aircraft and Mark's Aircraft which was the 742! Anyone know a solution to this? Thanks Anyhow, here is the shots: Luc and I at Kathmandu Image Climbing out of Kathmandu on a DHARKE 1 ALPHA Departure, Runway 20 Image Image Image Checking out the view from the flightdeck! Image Check out the Head Wind! Image Luc Touching Down, Runway 30 at Islamabad Image Followed by Dave... Image Finally Mark touches down nicely onto Runway 30 Image Again, thanks for such as great fly-in :) Ross S"

"Ross: very nice pics, I wish I could have made it. For your question about not seeing Atlas the issue is in the aircraft title in the aircraft.cfg. The aircraft title must match between your atlas plane and the other users atlas plane. The MP session will get the other players aircraft title that they currently have loaded and send it to you. If your FS can not find an exact match in your "hanger" your FS will display the same aircraft *you* are in at the time the other person joined (when your FS received the other players' aircraft title). That's why you see everyone else in the same livery as your plane. More instructions to fix that later... Mark: Based on the fact that Dave's gear shows up on Ross' system I think the issue is that Mark may not have the "send and receive detail aircraft [something]" checked in the MP options in FS. Because Dave's gear is down at the same distance in the shot as Mark's gear not being down I figure both Ross and Dave have that option checked. Justin"

"Hey Justin, Looking forward to recieving the details about setting FS aircraft.cfg files correctly! I downloaded the PMDG 744 Aircraft Livery package that Bodo added onto the new webbie. I was flying N453PA and Luc was flying N450PA. Surely if Luc had done the same as me and downloaded the package, the names of the aircraft would have been the same and it should have recognised? Thanks, Ross S"

Nice shots! I wish I could have been there instead of just listening to you guys on Teamspeak. I forgot about the flyin and started a long-haul. It would have been nice to take a twotter out of Lukla and meet up at Kathmandu! Maybe another time. See you guys online. Stop in to teamspeak. We're listening....

"Must say it sounded very professional, will make an effort and join the next one, now I ,ve found out what caused me to lose the Server, I flew the route the Day following in a PMDG B1900C Freighter, didn,t want to use the 744 because of the R/Way crash problem, hadn,t d/loaded the afcad files. Safe Landings ,Mike  Nice Pics by the way Ross! How much did the Headwind increase your Fuel Consumption, any idea?"

Hey Mike, I dont think it cause a mass increase to the fuel consumption. Before the flight, the FMC calculated, with a .844 Mach cruise (rather than ECON) that i would land with 18,500lbs of fuel. I actually landed with 17,700lbs! Soo, to conclude.... Flying through 110knots of headwind really dosent effect the fuel too much! Just increases flight time   Ross S"

Thanks for the explanation, Justin. I'll make sure mine are checked for the next flyin."
