Hi Everyone

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

Hi Everyone

Post by Rick Butler »

"Hi everyone, I got accepted today, just thought I would introduce myself :) My name is Rick, 29 year old oilfield worker from northern alberta canada. I am fairly heavy into flight sim. I have very little fixed wing experience in real life, lots of rotary as a passenger (do lots of chopper jobs in the summer). I even got to fly a huey last year :D I am married with a 16 month old co-pilot, he sure likes to push buttons  Anyway, take care all, can't wait to get flying, just did the fsacars fight for my test flight, but think it's working now. See you all soon, love the VA and look forward to spending more than a few hours in the pilot seat (much to my wifes dismay  )"

"Welcome Rick! Glad to have you with us. There are plenty of people here to help you in the early stages of your career with GC. Don't be afraid to ask for help. I was just checking out where Rainbow Lake, Ab Canada was on Google Earth Rick. You are a long way from just about anything aren't ya? Must be pretty quiet and desolate up there. I also see a place called Rainbow Lake Mobil. Is that where you're at? I see what looks like some type of facility above a rather long runway at that position. Take care, Mark"

"Thanks everyone, glad to be here :D Mark, I am not at the Rainbow Mobil, that airstrip was abandoned about 2 or 3 years ago I think now. When that facility (which is Exxon Mobil oil & gas battery btw) was first started, they had a camp out there, and Mobil (wasn't Exxon yet) would fly their guys in for 2 weeks in and 2 weeks out. They have since built about 40 or 50 houses here in town, and moved the families into town. And yes, I live in the middle of nowhere :D"
