FSAcars info line

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

FSAcars info line

Post by Gary »

I'm trying a flight using FSAcars vice FSFK and seem to have missed something. My call sign and relative position appear correctly on the map in real time but I don't have any info showing in the bar below the map which in turn concerns me as to whether the info will be shown at the end of flight confirming the sortie was flown.

Anyone have an idea of which step I missed in setting up acars?

Thanks Gary

Change to GCP ;)

So on the flight map your PN shows up but no other data or you don't show up at all on the flight map?

The flight 5y898 is showing now a bit north of ZLS on the way to Norfolk but no info line at all. Three other flights display both info and a map prescence so I'm not sure what I missed.

By the by--I'm one operating Vista and awaiting the new installer at which time I'll jump on that system immediately.

I just uploaded GCP2.2.2 which installs on vista (and XP).

I see your flight there and I think i've notice you, or someone like you, before. We can continue to troublshoot or if you want to wait until you get GCP installed we can let this go, up to you.

I see you have the new GCP uploaded so I think I'll just drop out of this flight, upload the new software and start the flight again.

I think I'm just having growing pains learning the ropes of these new reporting systems as a FNG. Thanks for the input so far.

FSACARS setup has confused many including myself so don't feel bad. GCP was programmed with that in mind. On first run it will ask you to initialize GCP and take you directly to the dialog box to do that. Then to setup a flight you need to input a minimum of the red colored fields and click Connect to FS (with parking brake set otherwise GCP will complain to you). Good to go.
