RW Flight

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

RW Flight

Post by nwadc10 »

If anyone gets bored tracking Santa's sleigh this afternoon, you can track my flight. I'll be operating MSP-CLE-MSP with a departure time of 1510CST, 2110z. Flight number is FLG4725. CLE live atc is available on the net at www.liveatc.net.

There will be a 30 minute turn (if on schedule to CLE) for FLG4724 returning to MSP. For those who happen to monitor live ATC, callsign is "Flagship".

Scheduling has changed the flight on me once already today so if this changes i'll post.

I was...but got to the gate 30 minutes before departure. However, we didn't have a captain until after I finished my preflight. We waited another 45 minutes for the ramp to load the plane and push us back. Quick turn in CLE was negated by having to get deiced because picked up a fair bit of rime ice on the approach.

Wow, rough flight. I think I heard you, but quite a few FLG pilots sounded like they were mumbling, or using low quality equip, or something. I heard Flagship 472 kshhhhhh! a couple of times, I'm sure one of them was you. The lady operating ground on the .8 frequency sounded really nice and cheerful.

Now for a few questions.

I heard a lot of female pilots (4 or 5), is there a large amount of female pilots being hired at Pinnacle? (not a bad thing 8) )
And who is using the call sign "super tug"? The tug driver or the pilot of the plane being towed?

The bad sounding radio is probably just the audio feed. We didn't talk to .8 so I didn't hear her ;)

Number of female pilots is growing, there's usually at least one in any given new hire class.

I don't know how that operation works when towing an aircraft with the "super tug". When I used to reposition Saabs and Avro's the aircraft radio was used. Then we used the airline callsign plus tail number on tx to ground. I don't know if the "super tug" has an air-to-ground radio in it. If it does it could very well be the tug driver transmitting. If not, the "brake rider" in the airplane is oeprating the radios.
