Packaged Liveries installation

Post by John Khan »

Hi

I have just downloaded the Package of Polar and Atlas Liveries.

In the PMDG B747-400F Folder I have created a Texture folder for each of the liveries, ie:-

Texture.Atlas Air N408MC
Texture.Atlas Air N409MC and
Texture.Polar Air N450PA
etc. etc. etc......

In the instructions it states:-

"1.) In the PMDG747-400F folder please duplicate any texture folder. This is done to retain Virtual Cockpit textures which are not included ."

I notice the Texture folders I already have, do have these files in them.

Does this mean we must copy all the files from the origional Texture folder into each of the new livery folders, then add the files from the downloaded liveries?

Thanks

Hi John,

That means...copy all of the Polar and Atlas Air folders into the PMDG 747-400F folder and then copy all of the contents of an original Texture folder (either the USAF one or the PMDG Livery one) and paste them into each of the PAC/GTI folders without overwriting when asked ;)

Thanks Ross,

Sorry for the delay getting back, away at work again.

That doesn't answer my question.

As per my origional post....

Is that the correct way to do it? or not?

It's been a while since I installed the liveries on my machine but I believe you need to pick one texture folder that's already there and copy it. Then paste it many times (as many times as you have new liveries to install from GC) and the new folders will contain "Copy x" in the filename. You can rename these folders now or after you have copied the new textures to each folder. I named my folders texture.N452PA, etc. Then, copy the files you downloaded from GC into the respective folders and click yes to all when the replace existing files box appears. Do that for each new texture you want and you should be done.

Thank you Justin.

There are texture folders in each of the downloaded liveries named.:- Texture.5Y408, Texture.5Y409,...etc, then Texture.PO452, Texture.PO453.....etc. They have no files in them.

I have put these Texture folders into the PMDG 747-400F folder, then copied the files from the origional 400F Texture folder. (This gives all aircraft in PMDG Cargo House Livery)

Then copied the files from the new Texture folders in the downloads to the appropriate Atlas or Polar aircraft Texture folder with the overwrite on.

They all show up very well.

So.....what I asked in the first post is not the way to do it.

Incidentally N408,415,416,497,and 498 are in Emirates livery, I presume that's how they are, and N496MC has a plain white fuselage with a red going to blue line along it. The vertical stabiliser and engine nacelles are blue and "Operated by Atlas Air Inc. is painted on the side towards the front.

What is this aircraft?

Regards
John

After I posted this I had another look at the Liveries page and there they all are with Emirates and the plain one.

Just an update for all. N498MC was repainted during the last week of Feb. It's new in the Atlas Air livery.

There is also 2 additional -400's to join the Atlas fleet this Yr. 1 will be a BCF

Ah, Westchester county, I see we have a Polar/Atlas local boy. Hows Pepsi doing? :D

So do you have connections to Atlas and Polar?

Also, whose the BCF coming from, and why are they getting it?
