UPS did these charters for several years and just stopped recently.yoni63 wrote:Well.... I did see an article in regard to DHL doing some pax charters a while back. No kidding on that either.... I believe it was connected to a band or something of that nature and DHL had contracted to fly them to about 8 different places. Not just equipment, but the actual band, crew, etc... I happened onto some type of flight scheduling page that gave the crew their information such as times, type aircraft, points of departure, destination, etc.mvm wrote:Yes i did as a matter of fact, something about fitting the cargo containers with seat belts?...Hey Allan how you making out with those refits?nwadc10 wrote:We are starting a pax operation at GC...didn't you get the memo?

I would recommend the airline I started and still run but I am not sure we would meet all of your requirements. Virtual-USAairways http://www.virtual-usaairways.com We operate under the US Airways fleet aircraft along with the entire Star Alliance fleet of aircraft. I would like to think we are not that stringent but I am sure some may think we are.
Thanks again guys! I figured I would get tons of replies from everyone with their "favourite" airline!
I did put in an application to BA - they do have a three week queue for new applications though! Although Virtual US Airways looks interesting, the FSAcars requirement is a show stopper. No matter how much I've tried, I can't get it to work on either one of my two boxes! And the fact that there is no 747 for me to fly is an issue too. Otherwise it looks like a great airline!
Lots of the other suggestions are interesting too but I think BAV should work out...

Didn't he fly for BA for a while? I thought I read that somewhere.Brogs wrote:Iron Maiden just did a Tour, and the Lead Singer Bruce Dickinson flew the Aircraft, he,s a fully qualified Captain with a Charter Airline called Astreus .

Has everything you needed, including a VERY active message board and classic flight schedules for several airlines.
I am part of management there, what are you saying hehethansson wrote:I tried them a little while back. The boards might have been active but I found the management a little too heavy-handed and the whole concept of stuffing over a dozen airlines under the same umbrella didn't have a very realistic feel to me...
I should add that I am flexible as far as region is concerned - except maybe Europe since the airspace there is a mess... On the other hand, maybe I can start looking there. Never too old to learn new procedures...
Here is a list of airlines you can fly with FTG

Well... I should have known better than ask for advice from a bunch of aviation crazy folks!
I am still on the waiting list for BAV and they look like the best bet for me right now - especially with the code shares in the US and Asia available.
Mike, I can share a few stories about FTG - off-line though...
And Serge. Thanks for that link - that is a VA that I haven't come across before. They seem to be major fans of Mike Stone's aircraft! And a military wing?! I don't think realism is very high on their list if they fly the B-2 and B-52. It seems like a great site with a bunch of folks that got together to just have a great time - which is perfectly fine! But not being a personal fan of Mike's aircraft, I still think that BAV will be a good fit...
Thanks again everyone - I think this is a great thread for everyone who needs the occasional break from hauling all those crates around!

However, you can fly any airplanes of your choice as long as they have a NEair replacement in their fleet, we dont mind sometime I fly the RPF and use the PMDG in the pirep just for your info.

You can't go past BA Virtual. I have flown there for years (and still do). They have a great range of aircraft and flights all over the place, plus all the codeshares, and a lot of their own acars program.
American Virtual airlines is good aswell, have a look at
www.joinva.org
They will take into account your previous experience on Vatsim and allocate you a senior rank. I flew there for a while but resigned to come back to Globe Cargo.
Regards
