Atlas Charters / Operations - Real Life

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

Atlas Charters / Operations - Real Life

Post by Mike Bridge »

Well have been a interesting 3 weeks at work :)

Working for QF in YBBN - We lease 3x Atlas A/C

Air NZ, who lease one Atlas Aircraft, flew a charter from YMML to YBBN, onboard was 3x 4 Tonne Rhinos from Melbourne Zoo, to Australia Zoo.

Then we had the V8 Supercars, Flying them to AKL for the First round in New Zealand.
Well that was two charters, Flying them to AKL and brining them back:)

Then N418MC Run out of A Check hours, so Landed in YBBN, insetad of YSSY ( 1hour flying time away) to try and save hours.
Dumped 35 A/C pallets, 102T of Freight, mainly Dest Sydney which we trucked down as most units were main deck.

Than Second Atlas aircraft we lease missed Curfew into YSSY x PANC, Fuel stop PHNL, so it landed YBBN
0410 in the morning.
Easier flight this time :D Only 92T onboard.
Once again, majority trucked to Sydney. By road it takes roughly 12 Hours.

So good to see them in YBBN :) as the all operate out of YSSY.
Plus seeing the Rep so much, i got a Atlas B747-800F Model 1/200 !
Engine spin and all!

Well 3 weeks off holidays for me now :)
Off to HKG to relax with the wife - or more likely be dragged around shiopping :)

Thanks for reading my little Rant :)

Well I,m in a quandary  I,ve got a choice which way to go and it all depends on the amount of flak that is going to be let loose on my head! I can either go for the 744 Model with the $50 Delivery Charge or D/load the Dreamfleet 722 ? :?
At the moment Senior Management is unaware of my intentions, but no doubt the proverbial will hit the Fan whichever way I go !
