A New DHLVA

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

Blink!!!

IDEA!

Maybe we could team up with them and operate some Polar flights for them, like they do in the real world.

Wouldn't that be awesome? 8)

I think that is the same DHL web site I found months ago and it said the same message about being under construction and to check back later.

Besides, why fly routes in support of that DHL when we have our own DHL that we already are flying routes for? You may not know you are flying a 747 route that is in support of our DHL operation basically due to lack of space on the flight description box. Doesn't mean your idea was not decent, just don't think it would make sense with us flying DHL already.

Yeah, I figured as such, but wouldn't it be cool? Two airlines teaming up to emulate the real world. I quote Dr. King; "I have a dream" :D

I wish there were much more VA's to simulate Atlas, Polar or DHL. We have some very innovative ideas and procedures here at GCVA and we are yet to see more..

I don't believe these kind of new developments are possible with VA merges, codeshares or whatever you call it.

What about pilot seniority??? Would you be willing to drop behind someone from the other airline?

i agree with you on that. it seems ( in my opinion ) most VA's dont go as far in depth as we do because it would make virtual flying more like a job than a hobby

and i guess that discourages alot of people

You guys hit the nail on the head, and most have no idea how many hours go into just simply researching routes, ops, news, etc etc, to try and get as close as possible to the real world counterpart.

with that said what i find ironic is people buy planes such as the LDS 763, the PMDG 744 and the RFP 742 for realism.

but yet they dont want to take the time to learn R/W procedures. :?

thats one of the main reasons why i joined GC.

the other is the active form 8)

Well, we do have probably more activity on our forum than alot of other places I have seen. Don't know alot on that as I have not navigated around to other places much. But its you guys that are part of keeping that activity going.

Well, it seems they are in limbo and won't be activating the VA anyway as I queried it in the LevelD forums. See post below:

I kind of thought they were having trouble getting off the ground.

BTW, that page is restricted access. Can you cut and paste the message here?
