Pounds or Kilos?

Pounds or Kilos?

Post by Les Parson »

In the real world do ATLAS/POLAR crews use pounds or kilos? I've known some former ATLAS guys and I believe they use kilos. I've read through the GCVA material but don't recall the issue ever being addressed. Is there a preference?

Thank You,

Ok, should we then use kilos for PIREPS, etc?

At the moment, I have (well, always have done), used KILOS for the Aircraft and Flying....but POUNDS for GCP. Im not sure if the latter is right though? Perhaps Justin could shed some light on this :)

Yup, me too Ross

I think the GCP is in lbs. (for the cargo load), but I use Kilos for everything else.

With GCP, if I do use Kilos, I put that note in the message box, so they know I'm not carrying only 45000 lbs of cargo

Maybe on the next release of GCP Justin could make a note to put it in Kilos.

I personally have used kilos from the get go, after watching the Atlas DVD and seeing it all in Kilos. Makes things realistic.

Also, Bryan, do you think you could post the Atlas charter flights in Kilos? I know usually its in Pallets, but sometimes its not... I think it would make things more streamlined if it were all the same, what do you think?
