PMDG panel state

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

I was just curious about what the panel state file is when it is downloaded? can't locate it if it was received. Thanks.

It is for FSX and is in the PMDG selection in the manu bar. It is something that lets you select how you want the panel to look when you select the aircraft to start.

There are two choices, you can save a "panel state", when - say you get to an airport, shut down the engines but leave the APU and other things on.

You then save that in the Panel State and can get that setting back again when you come back and re-start from that airport. (or any other one, if you want that particular panel state).

It will then be in the "Load" section of the panel state selection in the PMDG menu in FSX after you save it.

When the tech crew get onto an aircraft, it has already been prepared by the ground engineers if it has been there awhile, or, the previous crew leaves it in a ready state, so they very rarely, if ever, see an aircraft in a "Cold and Dark situation. Ususally the APU is going with all associated bleed airs, electrics etc.

Hope that is whwat you wanted.

John,

Yea, I know what a panel state file is, my question was if the uploaded files by GCP worked with FS9, which from what you said it doesn't so it doesn't matter anymore, but if it did what is the name of the file itself and where does the GCP program download it to, I have a receiving state already made so I guess I'll have to use that.

Oh OK sorry I misunderstood.

I mentioned FSX because I was checking it out at the time, as I have just reinstalled it, and the PMDG 747s. It probably goes with both FS9 and FSX

Perhaps this should be in the GCP section of the Forum.

The panelstate upload/download works for FS9 and FSX. However, it's unkown if a panelstate saved in FS9 is compatible in FSX or vice versa. This scenario is unlikely due to only one repaint in FSX (stock PMDG Atlas and Polar) whereas we have all the tails painted for FS9.

Hey Boss

Do those 767 repaints work OK in FSX?

Maybe it should for others reference, I was asking cause the FAQ with GCP just says it is downloaded if available, but says nothing about where the file is stored or what it is named so the pilot in question can load it once FS and the PMDG 744 is running.

Hi,
Level-D 767 aircraft paints for FS9 will work also in FSX. So yes the DHL aircraft paints here do work in FSX.
