Captain Sim Wx Radar

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

Captain Sim Wx Radar

Post by nwadc10 »

I was intrigued by the release of CS's Wx radar and was hopefull of big improvements over existing wx radars available. Now, I have not purchased or installed this particular model so I can't speak with absolute certainty, but by looking at the product page on CS's website, it looks to me like a poor quality radar image is produced. I was very unimpressed with what the site showed. It's my opinion that the RealityXP wx radar is still a better buy if you are in the market for a good wx radar.

If someone actually has this CS Wx Radar and would like to post their opinions, please do. This is just a warning to our members who are looking for products to increase their realism that the CS model appears to be inferior to RealityXP's model.

The radar that came with the 757 package stoped working - i tried several fixes and tryed to get support for Cap. Sim - got nothing from them. I dont like the company - the new radar looks to be close to what they have had. I to have the other add on reality XP

It's definitely the best out there, and CS doesn't offer much not only in quality but, customer service is non existent in that company. For the life of me, I don't see what has kept everyone from totally just boycotting that company.

As good as the RXP Wx500 is, its still interesting to note that PMDG doesnt seem impressed with it. Maybe they know something that we dont (WX500 has always been good to me), but PMDG says it inst very accurate in weather description.

I think RealityXP even says it's not completely accurate because of FS limitations. But, it works well for me and compared to a real radar image it looks 10 times more accurate than the CS model.

PMDG may have some other motivations for saying the RealityXP WX500 is junk...as you can tell I have little faith in that company even though they make quality products.

Agreed...for likely the same reason.
