Hilarious just like the "Bad day for JFK ground", I've heard that one before
On a serious note, it just shows how important it is to speak and hear English well. I don't get it that Air China let such a pilot fly.

That is hilarious, and I can imagine how exasperated that controller must've been getting. Kinda reminds me of the Hong Kong Approach controller I talked to a few months back.
