Captain Sim C-130

Captain Sim C-130

Post by Mike Schmitt »

I hope its okay to chat here about a plane we do not fly but I having a bit of a porblem. I know from last years Operation Deep Freeze Event we have a couple Captain Sim C-130 pilots here and I have a question or two.
I am trying to one find air drop files, especially cargo and can only seem to find Paratroopers. I have joined SIM Air Force also and really having a hard time finding any. Of course my next problem is making the work only when I want them to work.

I tried under smoke system in the Aircraft cfg file but because of the engine smoke on continuous I guess they continue to jump as power is applied or let off. I saw a post that said to try and tie the drop effect to the IR flares in the Light section, do you just place the line of text there or do I need to do something else?

Any help is most appreciated.

I did this same thing, I will hunt for the file, it might take some looking, but I think I have it somewhere. Basically to tie this into the light affects for your IR button, you replace the line that deals with the IR. I believe the instructions are with the file I have that tell you how to do this. I've heard the same problem on the smoke application though. Seems that everyone has had that problem.

Also, this is the lounge, I don't see a problem discussing just about anything you feel like discussing on here. This particular part of the forum is just that, it's a lounge. Feel free Mike.

I figured it out how to tie it in. Now I am still looking for the file too.

Mike, I think it's on another computer which I will have access to next week. :( I know that doesn't help you now. Bad part is, wasn't one of the major file servers destroyed recently? If I am thinking correct, that is where I got this file, but I have seen it before on other sites too.

Seems like it is called "cargoeffects" or something like that.

Yea I have looked on other download sites and it is not there. I hoping AVSIM can recover it cause it maybe the only place to find it. But this C-130 flying at Sim Air Force is pretty cool. Still can't seem to find the auto land and FMC. Oh wait maint reported not installed... LOL

Yeah, autoland is kind of hard to find on that one LOL. I will tell you this, no kidding, that C-130 has brought back alot of skills I had lost or at least I'll say had become very rusty on. When I was flying it with another VA, we did tons of pilotage stuff, not just visual, but low level using lots of emphasis on speed control and stop watch. It definitely keeps you busy in the cockpit "actively" flying the aircraft. Hmm, maybe Titan can employee that wonderful aircraft someday for some of the short hop and alaska stuff.
