Dear All,
Question here from a GCVA newbie!
Am taking a flight today from Sunny and cold Germany to Hong Kong (new scenery nice!!!!).
Was a little slow off of the mark as yesterday there were flights from VHHH-PANC and then PANC-VHHH, which I did not book as they would not be flown within 48 hours. My focus for getitng out of Hong Kong to PANC and back s to drop in with the World Flight boys there on Friday, then head to Sydney Saturday night for their final leg.
So cutting to the question.......
.......I will be in VHHH later today. I noticed on GC PIREP personal flying box. Can I fly a position flight for GCVA VHHH-PANC or will this not be recognised by the system.
I can easily just reposition however I do like to fly my legs consecutively. It also would help in the future for things like Atlas charters being dead end and then getting to my next destination.
Thanks in advance for any help in this area, whether I like the answer or not LOL!!!

In the real world, a lot of cargo pilots dead head between airports so their flights are often not consecutive. A friend of mine used to fly for a US cargo airline and he was flown from the US to Singapore on a commercial airliner (United I think) so that he could fly the cargo run from Singapore to Tokyo. I know Fedex flies U.S based pilots over to Europe where they can start their duties. So if you are stuck at VHHH and need to be in PANC you could jump seat and this would be quite realistic. Another option would be to send a PM to Bryan Jones, our Atlas Manager, and request a charter from VHHH to PANC. I don't know whether GCP will accept a leg that is not in our system. Never tried it. That would be a question for Justin.

I don't know if this helps but I was doing a few QAF flights and I flew from HNL to Aukland in one leg and then my next leg was Sydney to Bankok so I just plugged in Aukland to YSSY into the GCP program and made sure to mark in the comments that it was a repositioning flight and I still got credit for the hours and everything.

Well, if your RM had spotted this he would have to delete this flight as per the PM. So, please do not follow Steven on this! The only option to fly a non system flight and get credit for your hours is when there is a VATSIM event taking place and you decide to participate in it. It DOES NOT need to be a GC event. Any VATSIM event is perfectly fine. The revised PM will also allow GC pilots to take part in any online controller exam and log the hours via GCP. Please remember though that you have to notify your RM that you've sent a PIREP for a non system flight. All the required details are in the section 3.8 of the Pilot Manual.

Guys, please do not make your own repositioning flights. It screws up things for other guys that might be trying to catch that aircraft at that airport for their own connection. If you want to fly some other aircraft such as a cessna, have at it. If Atlas Air caught a pilot flying a 744 for his own transportation, well... you get the idea right?
In the future this will be especially important as we will have fleet tracking. So again, please don't make your own flights. You can only log hours of posted flights.

Just deleted your pirep. I will put that on that fact that it was a rookie mistake who forgot to read the PM.
