I missed my flight!

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

I missed my flight!

Post by jscharpf »

Sorry guys I reserved a flight on Tuesday evening and was planning on flying it this morning (taking a well deserved vacation day today just to play FS lol).

So it looks like it was dropped from my list. I hope it didn't mess anything up with the schedules.

I've reserved another flight Hong Kong to Anchorage, now my wife wants me to do a little work around the house lol.. but I promise I WILL fly this one today, it will just be a few hours from now :)

I am new here too, but I think when you miss your scheduled flight like that you are supposed to do the following.

1. Check the master schedule and determine when the next flight will be operating between the departure and arrival cities you were scheduled for.
One half hour prior to that scheduled departure time:
2. Start FS and choose the appropriate aircraft which you were scheduled to fly.
3. Log in to VATSIM at the scheduled departure airport.
4. Find the Polar, Atlas, or Titan aircraft preparing for departure.
5. Send a text message to the pilot of that aircraft and request to jumpseat on his flight.
If he/she accepts your request, go to the World menu of FS and click Join Session.
Essentially you will now be sitting in the jumpseat, which on the 747-400 is where the F/E was located on a classic. You just sit back and enjoy the flight.

At the completion of the flight, ask the pilot to include your name and the original flight number which you missed, in the remarks section of his/her PIREP and you will be credited for your original flight.

Hope that helps,
