Since we are introducing pax operations in April and given the surplus of FO's, we are introducing a new GC rank, i.e. Flight Attendants. We have decided, effective from 0000Z tonight, to take the bottom 1/3 of the FO's and make them FA's until we can promote some FO's to Captain to make room.
Flight Attendants will be pulled from the monthly bid system and MUST fly at least 1 pax flight per month before they can fly any other flights.
Below you can find a dedicated banner all the newly appointed FA's should use as their Forum signatures.

Still awaiting the NOTAM on this to see if it is true and not an April Fool joke as it doesn't sit right with me to be called a flight attendant, at the end of the day I am a pilot and a flight attendant is a flight attendant nothing more nothing less. I've been waiting patiently for several days now before flying any further to see what the outcome of all this is and it is now the 6th April with nothing further being mentioned. If this is to be factual then please accept this as my resignation from the VA at least that may help towards balancing the status quo between Captains and First Officers.

I have to admit that the whole thing is rather strange. If it's not an April Fools joke, while I don't care that much since I'm new, I can understand some of the concerns expressed by the other virtual pilots here.
If it is a joke, it's been dragged on too long and lost it's humor.
Please clarify this situation! Recruitment Status still showing OPEN, no NOTAM issued !! and it is now April 7th..... Are the lights off on the top floor? Usually when a real life airline goes down it starts by getting no answers from admin. Believe me I have gone through a few in 40 years of aviation.
Ok everyone, calm down. This was posted to be effective April 1st. If that isn't a dead giveaway, I don't know what is. Every single post here so far has been either done in good humour or, for those who don't get it, in the "the sky is falling down" category. I am not sure what you want the staff to say?! That it indeed was a joke? Yes, of course it was! I do realize that a lot of the new members have not been around long enough to have experienced the previous year's jokes but really folks...
So - the official word on this topic: April Fools! Now back to flying gentlement!

Aahhhh...sorry about that folks. The prank was supposed to last until the end of the 1st but looks like Ralf got busy at home or work and didn't get the reversal NOTAM posted on schedule.
