Bid flight dates

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

Bid flight dates

Post by raa57 »

hi, I have noticed that my one of my bid flights this month is GTI1001,FNLU-KIAH N263SG on Sunday june 6th,but when i click on my bid flight at the top of the page the flight is listed as for thursday and not sunday as is alongside the bid flight details.
And when i checked the schedule it is supposed to be N322SG that flys on the sunday.
When i checked my emails below is the bid details

Week 2: Thursday
Flight GTI1001 (N263SG)
Departure Luanda (FNLU) 20:30
Arrival Houston (KIAH) 11:35

So do I fly the flight on thursday with N263SG as i have bid,OR fly on sunday as its says beside my flight on the flight assignment page?

And if i have bid for thursday then why is sunday 6th june written besibe my bid at all?
Another thing is that up until now i have been flying all my bid flights on the day listed beside it on the route assignment page without really checking my emails for the exact day i had bid for, which means i have flown every flight for gcva until now on probably the wrong day!!!

Totally confused???

Terry,

It is OK to be confused with the dates! I still am and I coded a lot of the system!
Seriously though, the dates are sometimes off and I have that on my list of things to do when we tackle the bid flights and the open board system.

You don't have to do the flight on the actual day it says on the bid. Personally I try to at least get the week right and then set my flight sim clock to the bid date. If I remember... Of course you can fly it in a realistic manner and do everything in real time as per the sachedule but it is not a VA requirement to do so!

It is very possible that the page that is showing the route assignments is just picking up the first flight out of Luanda with that flight number (Sunday). The schedule for your choice says Thursday as does your confirmation email so fly it then. I will look into the dates on the route assignment next time I do maintenance on the site!

Thanks for the info!
