FS11 Rises from the Ashes? Maybe...

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

FS11 Rises from the Ashes? Maybe...

Post by 1691 »

Apparently us calling MS bluff of discontinuing the FS line may have worked...

Interesting Allan.

It doesn't actually say or promise anything. It has a "Microsoft Game Studios" logo on it. - I thought they had shut that down and the people from there had formed their own thing. It will be interesting to see what happens.

The department doing FS was Aces Game Studio or something like that, wasn't it? And that's the section that was shut down. I think MS Game Studio is a different department that has continued to pump out MS games of different genres. If those are real graphics (and frame rates!!) of the game it looks promising. However, the impression I got with it being a "LIVE" production was that it may be a dumbed down version and includes social networking features. I hope that isn't the case.

Yup that's the one Justin.

There was that story about the "Aces" team starting their own thing, so maybe Microsoft panicked and grabbed them back again. Those graphics I agree looked amazing.

I don't think anyone will be holding their breath to wait for what comes out of this. What we have now works quite well, given both FS9 and FSX.

Doesn't sound like FS11 but more of a new game (in the worst way) and the Live thing...trying to compete with Vatsim....stupid Microsoft:

COLOGNE, Germany — Aug. 17, 2010 — On the eve of gamescom 2010, the world’s largest consumer-oriented games showcase, Microsoft Corp. unveiled the newest addition to the famed “Age of Empires” franchise, “Age of Empires Online.” Microsoft also announced the development of “Microsoft Flight,” a new entry inspired by the best-selling “Microsoft Flight Simulator” franchise. Published by Microsoft Game Studios, these new titles, along with the previously announced “Fable III,” fully integrate the free* Games for Windows – LIVE online service to deliver compelling socially connected gameplay experiences.

“Today, we’re bringing powerful, inventive gaming experiences to the Windows-based PC,” said Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios. “Over the years, our PC heritage captured the hearts and minds of millions of players. Reinventing these iconic franchises with social, shared experiences at their core marks the beginning of our return to PC gaming in bold new ways.”
