PMDG Expands the 747 Again

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

PMDG Expands the 747 Again

Post by 1691 »

First the 747-8, now this!

Apparently a Dreamlifter expansion is in the works. Considering that Atlas has secured the operational contract of the Dreamlifter flights until 2019, it almost seems as if PMDG is keeping up with Atlas/Polar's news. More on the Dreamlifter program here. Interstingly enough, itll be GCVA's first run at a 747 without GE engines. Pratts only for the LCF.

It's certainly isn't the best looking 744 but could lead to some interesting long haul "heavy lift" ops...... :D

Probably going to be like $60 since it requires a whole new 3D model; they may offer a discount for previous customers but with PMDG and pricing, I've learned not to keep my hopes up :?

But maybe they'll surprise us!

It's on sale now for $14.99. I don't know why you would think it would be $60. They did the 747-800, which included coding optimization for performance as well as new engines sounds, and that was only $25 if i remember correctly. I don't know if I will buy this unless GCVA decides to add some to the fleet.

GC operations may start sooner than planned. Get your flashlights ready for that early morning preflight!

Got the uggly beast... but... I can't load it! I follow the instructions carefully and the tail does not split open as it should to load wings, fuselage etc. May be airport strike again!

It looks like PMDG has posted a fix for the tail door. As for the penalty point, contact Bryan. We are generally very forgivable to technical issues - especially with a brand new addition to the fleet!

LCF strikes again? I see Justin is doing a flight right now.....and he has "disconnected from ACARS". It's a shame this addon doesn't seem to work quite yet.

LOL, no, well maybe. I started a flight and FSX performance was pretty bad so in frustration I pulled the plug on the computer lol. It's my first flight in FS since going to a dual monitor setup so I'm wondering if that second monitor with FSX running is too much for my system to handle or if there's something about the LCF that's draining resources. FPS from the last time I used the 744F in FSX to this time using the LCF was cut in half...and that's on initial climb looking at nothing but blue sky out the window.
