Hello everyone, my name is Steve (pilot #2397). Just wanted to say I'm glad to be on board and hope to be here for a while. This isn't my first post, I did have some issues with GCP 2.3.3, but with a little help, got them resolved. A little about me, I'm 26 years old, currently stationed at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska as a Staff Seargeant (E-5) Active Duty USAF. Anyone familiar with USAF aircraft maintenance jobs may recognize what a "weapons" troop is (2W1s for the newer generation, 462's for the older fellas). My jet is the F-22A Raptor, woo aahh...it's not what you think, although it is pretty amazing where it counts. Ok, enough about my job. This will be the first VA that I actually will take part in due mainly to the fact that Global Cargo's PIREP system is actually working and linked up to my PC and FSX, versus "other" VAs who mainly operate FS9. Come on guys, it's been over four years now....time to step up. To each his own I guess. Anyways, glad to be here and glad to be behind the wheel of a bird I actually enjoy flying (and am allowed to right off the bat, lol). I love the prerequisite testing as well, it really makes it feel realistic, although, I won't lie....Google really helped out on a few questions...
But, after tinkering with MSFS since 1995, I'm surprised at how much I actually knew!! Ok, well, I'm glad to be here amongst people who share the same hobby, it doesn't really make great work conversation in the real world. I do want to say that I probably won't be doing the whole Teamspeak thing. I just feel weird with the whole headset thing, even on XBox, so don't count on me doing any of that. With that being said, VATSIM will be a little much with the typing, so that's probably out as well. I do frequent forums alot, however. Regardless, glad to be here.
