My Polar 742 home cockpit

"Greetings, I finished a major upgrade to my home cockpit a few weeks ago. I have been having a blast flying it. I am modeling it after the 742 and RFP. I have also painted it in PAC colors. Does your website detail your hardware setup - specifically around multi-monitor / multi Window configurations? I'm very curious what's driving all those monitors. "Thanks! There is some information on my site regarding the configuration of the PC's. I use dual head Radeons and one 3-head Matrox P750 for the outside view. I do not recommend the P750. It is too slow and does not have enough ram. If you save your flight and exit ""correctly"", you can minimize setup the next time you run. There is post from me on the RFP forum regarding multi-monitor usage but here is the ""simple"" explanation of how to save your MM configuration. 1. In windows mode, undock and move the panels to different monitors. 2. Go to full screen mode 3. Adjust panel sizes and positions in full screen mode. 4. Turn on ALL of the panels (don't worry about order, I haven't figured out how to change it anyway) 5. Set up any other flight parameters (airport, weather, etc.) 6. Save the flight WHILE IN FULL SCREEN MODE 7. Exit full screen mode - this is VERY important (the panels will all go to the primary monitor) 8. Exit FS9 At this point, all of the panel positions are saved with the flight....but, restoring them can be tricky. There are two ways to restore, easy and not so easy. Easy: 1. Start FS9 (should still be in window mode from last exit) 2. Select the saved flight - if you did everything correctly, the panels (in windows) will move to the the correct monitor. Don't move anything. 3. Enter full screen mode. The panel positions and locations should be exactly as they were when you saved the flight. Not so easy: This happens if you exit FS9 in full screen mode. As a general rule, ALWAYS exit FS9 in windows mode if you use multiple monitors. 1. Start FS9 2. Select the saved flight - the panels will be on the primary monitor in full screen mode. 3. Select windows mode. The panels will remain on the primary monitor. 4. Undock the panels, they should move the the appropriate monitor. This can take a minute with 10 panels. 5. Go to full screen mode, all panels should be where they were when saved. One final note: You CANNOT go from full screen mode to windows mode and back to full screen mode when using multiple monitors. FS9 resets the position of the panels. If you go to windows mode, you need to reset or reload the flight if you want to restore the positions or move them again manually. I hope this helps. "Just for the record, I finally got over to Lee's house and flew this simulator. Its absolutely incredible!! If you are ever in the Boise area you should try and hook up with him to fly it. It adds so much more realism to the sim experience. Great Job Lee!!"
