New Guy on the Block

Post by MAllen84 »

Hey Guys!
So, this is my second month with the community and I am having a blast. I am not new to Sim Flying, but new to this type of VA. With that being said, I have a question about assignments and fleets. I did the bid process and was awarded the flight I bid for. It is from JFK-ORD on N412MC. So, from the handbook, I know that if N412MC is not at JFK I can fly another 744F on that route, correct? But what if there are no 744Fs at that airport, at all? What do I do for my flight? Is there an aircraft ferry request form, or do I just fly a 744 and it will automatically be repositioned?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi mike ,

Welcome to globe :D

if you have bid for a flight then when you select the flight in GCP,GCP should automatically fill in the airline and aircraft boxes for you and this is what gets entered into the pirep, regardless of which actual airframe your sittin in.
i wouldnt worry that 412MC isnt at KJFK, as strangely the aircraft lists 412MC at EGSS but the atlas charter page shows 412MC sitting at JFK due for ferry flight to KBOS, so some anomolies there

and there is no ferry request form that i no off.

if im wrong hopefully management will correct me

Hi,

Welcome,

As has been posted before, it is impossible in our situation, to have a specific aircraft at an airport as per the schedules. Have a look at this post, it should explain it a bit.......

Just select the aircraft you need when you are preparing for the flight, and fly it. If you fly online put the correct registration into Vatsim ie; GTI, PAC, TTN and your pilot number. In your case GTI2547 etc.

Hi Mike, welcome aboard.

Like the guys before me said, just fly the flight you bid for with the correct reg number, that's all

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. Also, thank you for the answers on this topic and the post reference. That explains a lot. Just after reading the pilot handbook, I didn't want to create a party fowl. So, since I have my answer now. It is time for me to fly. Thanks a million again.
