Capt. upgrade study material

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

Capt. upgrade study material

Post by jfriz »

Hi Folks,
I am looking for material to study for the up-grade. Don't really want to pay for a lot of ATR manuals. Can some one please point me in the right direction.
Thanks a lot,

Hi Terry,
Yes, the Globecargo upgrade to Capt. test.
I have spent a lot of time on Google looking. The only ones that I could find were ATR courses, and of course they want big bucks.

Thanks,

Hi Jeff,

not sure what material your after then,

to be honest i dont think i studied for the captains exam myself just went for it and whatever came off the the top of my head was what i answered, seemed to work as i passed first time i think,
Really the test consists of a little general aviation knowledge, some 747 knowledge, and a decent understanding of globecargo operations and some knowledge on vatsim ops

what more you need to know i dont no. :?:

just looking forward till they introduce the online practical exam, thatll sort the men from the women :D :D

good luck
Terry

Hi Folks,
I got an email from Ralf Waawrzyniak, he was reminding me that the upgrade process is open for me.. Even though I don't have any study material, I might as well take the test to see what questons it has, and etc.
However, how do I open it, or, even find it ? I must be looking in the wrong places. I went to the Capt upgrade, clicked on the submit botton, waited, nothing, have been checking each day, nothing.
Can someone please steer me in the right direction.
Thanks a lot,

Hi Jerry,

Yes, I believe Terry has steered you right. If the test does not open for some reason, fire off an email to Ralf or Justin or both under the Company/ Admin banner. As for the test? As a retired ATP you should have no troubles with the questions. It is pretty straight forward. And, it is open book, so use whatever materials you have available..or google it :D . Good Luck!!

I used ASA ATP 2010 Test Prep book (ISBN 978-1-56027-740-8) and also FAA-CT-8080-7C Computer Testing Supplement For Airline Transport Pilot And Aircraft Dispatcher. I purchased both at a local airport, KFUL in my case. For me, studying these books gave me the added realism I am usually seeking in this hobby.
