FEB BIDS [unable to bid]

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

FEB BIDS [unable to bid]

Post by jfriz »

Hi All,
I searched the forms, can't find an aanswer to this.
I did not receive an email saying the bidding was open. Went to the bid form page, it is not active for me.
I'll have to skip bidding this month, I guess.

Cheers,

It could be that your LOA flag didn't get cleared before the bids started. If you still have problems with next month's bids, please let us know...

Same for me. I returned to GCVA in November after an extended absence and did not receive an email in either December or January announcing the bid process. I just happen to check the form a few days ago and was able to make a bid. i would appreciate if someone could look into it.

Thanks!

The bid form is always open from the 16th to 20th of every month without waiver. In the event that you forget to bid, the system will automatically place a bid for you after the bidding window is closed and you should receive an email with the details. There is nothing to worry about in regards to maintaining your currency with the VA if you forget to bid because it's not possible to not receive a bid whether it's manual done by the pilot or automatically done by the system. The system doesn't know what kind of flight you like however so you may end up with a flight you would rather not do. Bidding yourself is of course the only way to get what you want.

Not being able to access the bid form is another issue. Hopefully it's the LOA issue but I don't know if that was active on your account at the time or not. The other issue I'd investigate is your web browser since you've had a history of trouble trying to access forms on the GCVA website.
