The new 747-400 Procedures checklist

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

The new 747-400 Procedures checklist

Post by jacques »

Hi,

John, I really do prefer the new procedures checklist you've provided. It flows very nicely, much easier to follow. Thanks!
Maybe that can replace the checklist in the "downloads" section of the website?
(edit) I just re-read that it will be posted there later!

Yes, you got it. We have big plans for products produced by Chief Pilots and one of them will be checklists like what John produced for the 744 for all aircraft. In fact, the 744 checklist is the template for all checklists to follow.

Jay,

I am glad to hear your report about the new checklist. This checklist format is based on an actual format used for a R/W carrier, adapted for the PMDG.

I will ask that as people try the checklist, that they either post any problems or concerns. Like any document, this will always be a work in progress which will evolve as operational procedures evolve.

We have recieved a couple questions regarding the APU being "ON" in the After Start Checklist. That item is being researched and will most likely evolve to being "As Required" depending on whether the APU would be intended to be used for pneumatic power during takeoff.
