Justin is working on setting up a company profile with routes for those that wish to go with this planner."

"Hi all, today we released V 1.2 of the Dispatch Generator. There is now an improved flighttime calculation. The algorithm takes into account your chosen max flightlevel, checks if you can reach it (i. e. if the distance to destination airport isn't long enough then this is considered by the calculation). The computing doesn't check for wind influences or any other meteorological phenomena. So it's just a rule of thumb. Ralph an me we checked yesterday and today a lot of PIREPS against the flighttime calculation and it shows a pretty good conformity. But as in real life it's up to you captains to verify your own correct flight plannings!

"The actual flight planning will not get anymore involved than it is right now. This is as said before, a ""QUICK AND DIRTY"" method of generating a Dispatch Release and anyone requiring something more complex or more complete should use whatever it was that you were using before. Our intent was not to load you up with information and fields to fill in that would not be required for a basic flight for 90% of our pilots. As always you can feel free to use PM Flight Planner, FSBuild or any of the other methods commonly available."

"When using the newly added FS Flight Plan Export feature there are some things to keep in mind.

Generate the Flight Dispatch and at the Dispatch display page or PDF page, click for downloading the FS Plan.</li>
Even though a computer generated name is shown for the flight plan. I would recommend that you create a name that pertains to the actual flight plan.</li>
Save the flight plan where FS2002/FS2004 would normally save the flight plans to avoid the need to move them later.</li>

Okay, now the flight plan is exported and saved to your Flight Simulator Files folder under Documents. Here are some recommendations for it's use.

When the Flight Plan was generated, runway/gate information was not available.</li>
A good procedure to use the flight plan would be to first locate your aircraft at the departure airport manually and properly positioned at the gate.</li>
Now load the flight plan.</li>
When asked if you want to move the aircraft to the departure airport, answer NO to this.</li>
If you answered YES you would be relocated but may be out in the middle of a field. Remember the runway/gate data was not available to us when the flight plan was generated.</li>

Everyone does not load a FS Flight Plan when making their flights but for those that follow their progress on the GPS this is a great time saver for you. Once again, Mike has simplified our lives and made flying cargo more enjoyable."

"Love it! Keeps getting better. However, I need someone to explain something to me. When calculating the fuel, there are three entries: Dispatch, Reserve, and Total. The Dispatch and Total are always the same, and the reserve is always 50K. Example: Dispatch: 100,000 lbs. Reserve: 50,000 lbs. Total: 100, 000 lbs. Shouldn't the Total be Dispatch+Reserve, like this: Dispatch: 100,000 lbs. Reserve: 50,000 lbs. Total: 150,000 lbs. I've always been closer with the second formula, and have not totally busted the reserve fuel. Perhaps my fellow cyber-pilots would like to try and see how they do. Regards, Ted Barkley CGI #1185"
