New pilot comes with new questions!

New pilot comes with new questions!

Post by smores »

Hey All,

My name is Steve and I am beyond excited to get up in the air here at Globe Cargo VA! I just had a couple questions though:

Is their any specific airport I need to start my flight assignments from? It doesn't look like you use "hubs" so I wasn't sure if this gives me free reign when starting a flight leg...

Second, I noticed the Tail No. listed on the flight assignment and looked up the plane. It says its located in KLAX, yet the assignment I booked is PANC - KORD .... Do I need to fly the plane from KLAX - PANC first?

Thanks for the help!

Hi Steve,

You are free to start from where you like, no need to ferry a plane to your departure point.

Welcome on board,

Thanks for the response!

So I don't need to worry about the location of the specific Tail No.?

In that case, I am flying today! Woohoo!

Hi Steve ,
welcome to globecargo ,hope you enjoy your time here :D :D

as for the tail number you do NOT need to worry about it just go fly 8) 8) ,

Also if your interested have a look at the events section of the forum ,would be cool to see new face attending the events :D
And if you are flying on Vatsim then remeber to log using your PILOT ID number and not the flight number

Nope! Just go select a flight that tickles your fancy from the Open Board and have at it! Welcome!

Welcome Steve, just to correct Terry, you don,t need to worry about the location of the Aircraft you've selected, but it must be the correct Tail Number.

Thanks for the responses guys!

I finally got my PMDG 747 working properly ... had some activation issues but after some digging on the PMDG forums, thing are all good. :-)

Took the B744 up in the air a little last night just to familiarize myself and all I can say is WOW! It's is so smooooothhh!! It definitely is competing with my LevelD ... haha :o

P.S. My open bid is coming up and I was curious, are we limited to bidding on only one flight for the month of February or can we bid on multiple assignments?

As Luc said, you can bid on multiple flights. However, don't forget that you can alternatively select flights from the Open Board (Polar, Atlas or Titan). There is much more variety than just the bidded monthly flights!

Greg,

Thanks for the comment. I have grabbed a couple open board flights and one Titan Charter since joining. I am trying to get my PMDG Livery's to install correctly .... I run the installer but then I load FSX and they aren't showing up ... ?

Have you verified that the new livery folder is actually in the PMDG 747-400F folder? Is the Aircraft.cfg being updated with the new livery details?
