Xplane.

Post by Kieran »

Any news with regards to GlobeCargos furture prospects with xplane? FSX has been good but a pain in the butt sometimes with its shutdowns, and it is rather deflating. As i only fly the B727 mostly, any chance of getting the PIREP functionality with Xplane?

Cheers

I would be open to investigating XPlane but as far as I know there isn't access to the simulator data that we have with FS via FSUIPC. Although my research in this area is quite dated. Without access to the data we can't use programs like GCP.

That's about as easy a transition there is as far as programming goes. I'll have to look more into it.

Of course the prospect of XPlane goes beyond GCP - there are many other logistical issues to consider.

No plans as of yet. There is an administrator meeting in a couple weeks but that is just to try to get the VA as a whole back on track. I'm transitioning to P3D which is natively supported by GCP, have you looked at that?

In all honesty, it's going to be quite a long time before we get around to looking at Xplane for GC use as there's quite a lot of FSX/P3D projects that have been on the agenda for a long time. I haven't forgotten about it though.

Hi Justin,

Thank you for the answer.

I tried to install it anyway, thinking the XPUIPC would give some result, but no.

Regards,

PS: Justin, another question: It's possible to configure FSAcaras with GlobeCargo? Maybe there is a exit to those whom use X-Plane. I guess I'm the only one. :D
