"Finished up my Atlas Charter flight... Thanks to this great company, now I get to fly all around the world to places I wouldn't have thought. Departure from EGHI was amazing! A very short runway but I made it out OK"

"yep its AI. I first purchased ultimate traffic but found out how to add traffic myself using other peoples flight plans and have switched to that instead! I get great flight plans at avsim, mostrealisticai.com, http://www.boris-cargo-fp.fsalliance.net, http://www.freewebs.com/flightplans/, Projectai.com And a few others. Then I download the repaints, such as the DHL repaints that were added with different versions of paints and add them to the plans. its time consuming, so I'd suggest starting with a program like ultimate traffic, although maybe hold out and get the new 2005 version with seems to be pretty good with added features such as Ai separation and voice packs from other languages For example I got the atlas air plans off of projectai.com/libraries, searched for atlas. polar plans from boris' cargo website, I think summer 04, or winter, dont remember exactly..."

"dont forget to download new models though as avsim has ai-aardvark.com's repaints and models! They are fantastic! So are FSPainter's. The UT models are simple looking and harder on framerates. That's how I got started with the flight plans, replacing paints in UT, then it went to updating plans, and full blown addiction with downloading everything from scratch!"

I am having to watch that pretty close right now.
I dont have UT or any of the Ardvark stuff but I do have all of the Project AI aircraft installed as well as every flight plan. I would have to look at the numbers again but if memory serves I have something like 300+ aircraft & 200k+ flight plans. Now i have a high end system but i have everything in FS set to max. I have my fps locked at 25 & I usually get 22 - 24 fps in the air & at most airports. At some of my payware airports I will see over 100 planes on the ground & then I get around 10-15 fps. Not pleasant but still manageable. Post Script: If you are concerned with frame rates what I would do if I were you is go to PAI & install some of their packages. Just start with a few & they have a package that removes the default aircraft. Be sure to use that! You can install just a few airlines at a time & if you ever start to see bad frame rates you can uninstall some of the airlines."

"Have you seen this defragmenter that they are advertising on computer pilot magazine? I posted something about it, but haven't got any replies yet? It is supposed to concentrate on your flight sim files and make things really run faster, but I am the type that really likes to hear someone's experience before I get myself into a fix I can't get out of LOL"

"I have heard of it & think it is a bunch of whoie <sp>. I read the review about it & how it is supposed to work. It may help if you have a system barely able to run FS. Think of it this way, they say it increase disk access rate by about 1/100th of a second. How many textures do you think are in your visible range at any one time? IMO best case you might see a 2-3fps improvement. If thats worth $40 to you then by all means have at it & let the rest of us know if you wasted your money or not Good luck."
