european ils freq

"I dont seem to have to many airports with ils freq for europe in my fs9, is this normal. Im tired of trying to land visual in europe, and of coarse, with downloaded weather, it always seems to fog over about 10 miles before touchdown. How do you european pilots do it all the time, [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif[/img] ed mosier 1287"

"Hi Ed, That is really odd, we are the OLD continent but still... I am flying in Europe a lot and have no problem with ILS, most airports are well equipped. I am using FSNavigator, a very good add on, but even without it you should have ILS in FS9 on most airports where a 742 can land... it must be something in your system! If you like, give me some examples and I'll give you the freq. tonight when I go home at around 19hZ cheers, Luc "

"[img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif[/img] well, its basicly any airport overseas that polar flies into, eham, leige, prestwick, I flew to heathrow the other week, and supprise, no ils , they dont even show up on the fs map, you know those little green feathers...Everything is fine in the states or canada, well, souel korea, i havnt even got the airport, nor is it listed, Im wondering if i should try to reinstall fs over again, but im worried i may lose a lot of stuff and spend hours reinstalling.. ed mosier 1287"

"Hi again, This is definitely in your system! the airports you mention are really big ones and they are all well equipped ILS wise. Before re-installing everything have a close look at you set up. Luc"

"looks like i will be spending some time this weekend looking throught the fs9 discs, any idea what type of files i should be looking for, i am thinking afcad files.... I ran norton last night, no problems there, maybe when i did a defrag, some files didnt get moved, or maybe its because they found planets past pluto that has caused a problem here [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif[/img] ed mosier 1287"

-->[img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif[/img] Luc, that is exactly what I did, before i read your post, those regions were not activated, I also moved them up in the priority list, restarted fs and lo and behold, europe has ils now, so they are not set back 50 years on my system anymore, [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img] maybe this took care of my european airports in the forests, we will see as i am flying to eblg at the moment, last time i was there no ils but lots of trees in the runway. Havnt checked yet to see if souel is in the list, will do that next thanx ed mosier1287"

"Well done Ed! just remember that we have some fairly high mountains in Europe, ILS glide start at 7,000ft here in LSGG. Talk to Air India pilots, they lost 2 planes against the Mt Blanc, several years ago. If you go to Insbruck prepare your flight well... otherwise it is fun to fly in Europe. Good luck!"
