Load Control

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> Sure will. Every time I go to reformat I chicken out and try something new. The biggest confusion I have is why I can't get clean downloads. Just did a registry check, debugged the computer, defragged and it still downloads. I may fly without it for awhile and keep checking. As I said I used it twice before the problem showed up. I even went back to a system restore point and the same thing shows up. I'll keep trying until I decide to have a brandy then the courage will return and I'll reformat. <!--emo&--><!--endemo-->"

"I understand your frustrations Bill. At one time I also had a problem with the splash screen hiding and not letting me have access to the error message so I know what you are going through. Maybe the splash screen was a bad idea or should have been implemented to load first on a quick fuse, then disappear before the main program loads so that any configuration messages could be seen readily."

"Ralph, I may be reaching for something that's not there but in post # 5 where I listed the loader conf file should there be something in there to lead to PAC and GTI? It appears both of the config files are the same and do not address which aircraft it is. Just a question. Not even sure if it would apply. Have to leave for a couple of hours, maybe my head will clear. Did delete the splash to see if I could get to the setting but the error messages shut down the programs each time I click OK."

"Bill, can you send me a screenshot of the error message please. And if possible export your registry entries under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Globe Cargo virtual so I can check what is written in it. Export is found in the ""File"" menu. Mike"

I can see by the forum nothing I sent is going through. I sent four of the error messages from my desktop and they are not appearing.

"Hi Bill Just read all the post on the problem your having,I.m afraid all I can offer is this advice ,sometimes with these wonderful machines there comes a problem that only a Systems Analyst can solve and probably not even then, These things have happened to me once or twice and after days fo tearing my hair out I came to the conclusion that the only way is re-formatt and since then I have no hesitation, i give the problem a few hours ,look on the net etc to see if there is a solution and if not ,thats it ! I re-formatt. I run 2 disks on this machine, the Slave being purely a storage device upon which i back up all my Important Files, so I re-formatt and then its just a matter of reloading which is a pain but sometimes it,s just better to bite the Bullet especially as this problem appears to be unique to you! so you can spend hours trying this and trying that to no avail! Best of luck with it, Mike <!--emo&:(--><!--endemo-->"

I am sure you are 100% correct and I have come to the same conclusion. I want to make sure though before I finally bite the bullet I keep everything as it is to get the info to those looking at the problem in the event it arises again on my machine and possibly someone elses. My time is running out on my monthly flight though and I have to get that completed. The weather forecasts for my flight yesterday called for 21 hours between ORD and Seoul and if the winds hold I need a full day for that flight. I have been fighting computer problems for almost a month and a half now. I use one drive for nothing but flight sims and the other for my other programs but apparently something in the main program drive is causing the problem. I have reformatted my sims drive four times now and the problems are still there. The real aircraft never gave us this much of a headache. Happy Holidays to all.

"Really don't want to do that if I can afford not too. I still have time to squeeze the flight in, reformat and then continue on although bids are opening first and I should probably wait until after that. Too many decisions and not enough bullets. Besides, this is a very interesting problem and needs to be solved so it doesn't happen again on my machine or possibly someone elses. If it does at least maybe we will have some type of solution. <!--emo&--><!--endemo-->"

"Update for Ralph. Reformatted my entire system. Both hard drives. Bought a new larger hard drive for the flight sims, reinstalled XP, FS9, the update, RFP and am awaiting the repaint web site. When that gets installed I will then download the Load Manager again with an awful clean system and see if that works. I used a cleaning program thats approved by the Department of Defense for their use so I should have eliminated any chance of a bug or corrupt file. (Also bought a new box of ammo for this system)."
