"No, I use the default soundset. Have been pretty happy with it other than the sound of the APU running which is not audible in the cockpit in real life."

"I also use the default wich I think is fine. As for the APU, I like to ear it so no problems with that! <!--emo&B)--><!--endemo-->"

"I did notice one thing that would have added realism, mind you I am not unhappy at all with RFP, but did notice that when you crank up the APU you don't have that power surge that blinks the cabin lights for a split second and what not?"

And if anyone knows how to disable the APU sound I would like to know! Thanks."

"Speaking of Soundsets.... I wonder what the new PMG 747-400 sounds like? Anyone have the opportunity to hear it? I love RFP, but if I ""had"" to make a change in sound, I think I might just add a little bit more ""grind"" to the turbines when going into take off thrust, you know that sound... ewwwww love it!!!! Gotta admit the best plane I have ever heard before is the C-5 Galaxy, there is nothing better than being right underneath it on the departure end when its approaching you on take off! What a rush!!!!!!!!! Ok, so I am easily entertained... <!--emo&--><!--endemo-->"

Talk about a Rush, 40 yr ago when I was in the British Army , I remember standing on on the R/Way Threshold as 3 English Electric Lightnings ran their engines up prior to a Take-off in Formation, the Concrete was vibrating with the powe of the engines, that was something else! "<!--emo&:o--><!--endemo--> I have watched on fl350, vidios of 747 takeoffs, and yes there is that certain pitch the engines make when spooled up that rfp doesnt seem to have, pity, .... what I need is to put the sound through some kind of 5.1 system, but i dont think fs9 supports that. ed mosier 1287"

"Hi all, the other engine ur thinking of Mike is the General Electric. Agreed theyre is nothing quite like listening to an engine being spooled up particularly in my view the RR Trent with its 115,000 lbs worth of thrust!!! <!--emo&:D--><!--endemo--> Why cant anyone get the statups and shutdowns right? Admittedly theyre getting better like the PMDG and LDS but on the RFP as soon as u put the fuel in the engine starts in half a second flat. I'd understand in fs98 or earlier but surely now in 2004 this would start to be addressed? Cheers"

Don't know if its all in my memory card or what but somewhere I feel that something either needs tweeking or upgraded. So anyhow, I am afraid to add on much else than I already have."

However, the RR and PW use of EPR on the EICAS is not modelled, but will be with the -400F version."

"Don't know if any of you used Wilco's 767PIC, but it had that ""Whine"" that I think you are talking about. An awesome sound! Yes, we do need that!!!!"
