N496MC

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

"What is the deal with N496MC? I have been looking at some photos over at Airliners.net, and it is the only Polar 744F with blue engines. All others are white. Also in some photos it is missing the Polar Logo on the side, while in others it is there. Just curious as it really stands out from all the other 744Fs. Andrew"

Hey Andrew quite possibly...i'm almost 99% sure that aircraft is a lease from Atlas...hence the blue engines and missing logo's

That does make sense. Looks like they have painted on the Polar logo now, though. I wonder if they will keep the engines blue? It looks kind of cool. I see PMDG has included this aircraft paint schem as well. They just need to paint the ""Polar"" logo on now to keep it current. I have never tried using their paint kit before, but I wonder if it would be hard to cut and paste the ""Polar"" logo from the other aircraft. Would be neat if we could make repaints of all the individual Polar and Atlas aircraft with corresponding tail numbers. Then we could actually simulate accurate fleet operations. Andrew"

"N496MC is an Atlas plane that is on loan to Polar. When I was building the fleet files for FSACARS, I put it in the Atlas fleet rather than the Polar fleet. Perhaps I should have included it in both fleet files?"

496 was on loan to Polar but has been back on the Atlas certificate since the end of the summer when Polar was on strike. Polar currently operates 5 747-400s
