INS Activate!

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

"Hey All, Just a quicky question! What function, e.g. HDG, ILS, VOR LOC do you use to activate the INS waypoints? and what setting do you put the Radio Stack into GPS / NAV? Thanks, Ross S Any Ideas! (Sorry forgot to ask on previous post!)"

Hi Ross, Set your AP to HDG mode and make sure you select which INS to provide the guidance. The INS navigates the airplane by changing the heading bug (selected heading) and the HDG select mode follows it. Forget about the GPS, you are flying a REAL airplane now ;) For your nav radios, if your waypoint is a VOR or NDB set that frequency to verify the INS is on the proper course. Or, follow instructions for DME position updating in the CIVA documentation for proper nav radio selections. Justin"
