ATLAS AIR Virtual Airline

Post by Bodo Mueller »

"Hi, someone has founded another ATLAS AIR virtual Airline. http://www.atlasva.com They have a pretty nice website in the way I wished ours looked like, especially with their sub menus. Can somebody overhaul our website?"

Looks OK. Not that spectacular though. I see Robbie has left us and joined them already. I'll stick with our company for the time being. :D

Well, I may as well let the cat out of the bag here... We've already been working on a completely new website. The forum move was a part of this larger project. More details later. The new home page is nearing completion and when that is complete I will provide the link so that all may watch the development of the new site as we work on it. Justin"

They've done a nice job with their site. I wish them luck and hope they do well. Competition breeds innovation. I'll stick with Globe. Nothing beats the original. We have come a long way since our inception and there is a lot more to come guys. Mark

"I saw that the other day, they only started up on the 1st of august. Looks like we are going to have to haul more cargo to put them out of business.... :D At least with them, you dont have to fly turbo props for 200 real hours before you can move up to the big uns, like a lot of the other vas...that is kind of one of my pet peeves... :x I kind of agree on the website needing a facelift, nice to see it in the works ed mosier 1287"

"Holy Cow! I am a day late and a dollar short. I just caught this post. Is any of them an actual pilot? I mean they speak of alot of "little sim time" here and there, but good night! Doing something like this takes alot of work. I think they have their work cut out for them to even touch us. We have come a huge distance in the past months even, not to mention since I joined. I'm sticking to Globe, this was the VA that really has been good to me, and lots of our guys are excellent at helping me as well as others with issues that come up with our machines not to mention our flight issues. This might be a good time to mention a raise! :) Just kidding!!!!!! By the way, seems like I remember Ralph saying something to someone else about merging RFP with POSKY, I am wondering the same thing, but seems like I remember a negative on that? At least not without Ralphs permission seems like? By the way, no disrespect intended to anyone that is not an actual pilot, its just that we had some help from some actual real world ATP pilots that really was nice to have. So just to clarify that, no disrespect to our non real world pilots. Besides, I have not actually flown a real bird in a couple of years either."

Hi Justin, good news, that's all I wanted to hear. :D Don't worry. I did not intend to leave Globe Cargo just because of a better website layout of this other site. When I saw theirs I just realised ours was a bit outdated. Regarding the RFP/POSKY merge. Well, I do not care anymore. People who feel they need a POSKY model to fly should do that if they feel better with it. Second, the future or RFP is unknown. We do not know if and how good the current stage of RFP will run in FSX and we do not know if required, there will be a patch work by the gauge programmer neither we know if the development will go on. So the conclusion is, we probably have to fly with PMDG's 744 in future only. Then the question of a RFP/POSKY merge will be obsolate anyways..."

There are a lot of planes out there, but there is only one good 747-classic for FS, and that is RFP. Maybe a good reason to keep FS9 on my harddisk for a very long time. Take care, Wijnand"

I still cannot get onto this new website - when I enter the url (http://www.atlasva.com) into IE, the progress bar at the bottom creeps forward VERY slowly until I get the "web page not found" message - is anybody else getting this?. I have now tried it on two PCs with the same result."
