I purchased REX today - loaded it up and has corrupted my FSX. I need to remove FSX and start over. Two years of upgrade and tweaking down the drain.
Learn from me - you are risking all your files with REX

Not to rub the salt too deeply Peter, I feel for you but why not restore FSX from a recent backup. You do have some sort of backup right? I don't have it myself but yours is the first post I've heard saying it ruined your install. I suspect there is another factor at work here and not necesarily REX itself.

All i know is that i loaded it up and when i started FSX i got fatal error message and would not start.
Re: REX - Real Environment Xtreme killed my computer
I have REX also with no issues. I see there's a free update available and I have not installed that yet. Maybe there's a problem inside that new update. I assume the update is already applied to new downloads of the product?

Yes, you can buy REX2.0 directly now. The upgrade is really fast and easy, but the weather program still needs work. I flew 8 hours with it the other day and the winds at FL340-380 never changed, not even once. And there are severe visibility issues, and for some reason I always get close to an OOM (missing textures) after landing when using that wx. program. ASA and REX it is for me.
