Aircraft Maintenance Logbook Enhancements topic

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

Thanks for the info in this post and all your hard work behind the scenes Allan :D 8)

The new logbooks certainly look good and are a lot easier to read than the old version :D

Just a small point in the post you mention for any comments or questions to email you or reply to the post but it seems the topic is not possible for us normal pilots to reply in that section of the forum

Or maybe its just my priviledges have been revoked due to my constant shocking landing rates

Terry,

With regard to the NOTAM posts being read-only, you are correct, and I apologize for that oversight. The NOTAM has been edited accordingly. Thank you for the compliment as well, although most of the credit goes to Justin and Tomas with regard to the GUI and final touches. I just try to fix what breaks. Also, with regard to your landing V/S, you are also correct. :D

I really like the "Last Touchdown Performace" chart, but as far as I can see not every aircraft on the logbook has it yet,

is that chart from the last landing of the aircraft?

overall I think the logbook looks great!

well done guys!!

Eugenio, and all,

The "Last Touchdown Performance" is coming with GCPv3.0.0 where that graphic originates. For aircraft that have not recorded a last touchdown point that graphic will be missing.

The touchdown point is for CAT II/III Autoland tracking and certification. When an autoland, CAT II or III is selected in GCP by the pilot, a form will open with a blank runway graphic as you see it on the AML page. The pilot will click on the runway where they percieve the touchdown to have occured. That location is then transmitted to the website AML page via the Send Pirep function of GCP.

Reiterating, the placement of the touchdown point is not automatic. Making it automatic would be a cool feature however it would be extremely difficult with my programming skils, or lack thereof, and more importantly, having the pilot mark the position matches the real world.

GCPv3.0.0 is still in the testing phase but very near completion. There are a couple of items I know need fixing, when I have those fixed I will send out a Release Candidate to the GCP testers and when they find nothing to report back it will be published for everyone.

Regarding the AML and GCPv3.0.0 I will add that a new feature in GCP is a really slick display of the selected aircraft's AML page from within GCP. I will also add a link to the report MX form found on the website to make that easier as well.
