GCVA Contracted by vUSAF for Operation Deep Freeze
GCVA is participating this this years' Virtual United States Air Force (vUSAF) Operation Deep Freeze (ODF). There will be charter flights available on the Charter Board in support of this operation.
Operation Deep Freeze is a yearly event hosted by the vUSAF. ODF simulates the movement of personnel and equipment to Antarctica. While we won't be operating flights to the "ice", we will be moving equipment and people who will make the trip to the far South.
We have been contracted to carry a combination of food, station equipment, and scientific equipment. Our routes are primarily PHNL-NZCH and will be available on the Charter Board. These flights will be highlighted at the top. If you are available to operate one of these flight, please consider one of these flights and lets show that GCVA can be entrusted to move the requested items reliably and on-time!
The procedure is simple. Select the flight from the Charter Board and fly it. Management will take care of the coordination with vUSAF to verify the flight was complete. Your callsign will be "CAMBER" and CMB 3-letter code rather than one of our usual callsigns. Flying on VATSIM is highly encouraged however not required.
The contract flights are to be completed between November 25th and December 24th. There will be return flights scheduled in January and February. More information on that as that mission approaches.
